Button Accordion Festival Draws Top Musicians
The National Button Accordion Festival in Sharon over Memorial Day weekend showcased Polish German Slavic and swing influenced sets at Apollo Mannerchor Club. Musicians from across the U S including Alaska and Florida performed with jam sessions in the lounge and Festhalle. Organizers hailed it as perhaps the best festival yet with Cody McSherry of Lancaster joining the finale.

Bill would boost jury duty pay in Pennsylvania
State lawmaker Rep. Jason Dawkins introduced House Bill 1484 to raise jury duty pay to a flat 40 dollars per day in Pennsylvania. The bill would let county commissioners pay by debit card or other approved methods, keep 17 cent per mile travel reimbursement, and maintain that employers need not cover lost time. The measure, introduced last week, was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
