Monday includes a Legion march to Capitol Theatre for Congressman J Howard Swick speaking at 9 30 a m and services at Greenwood Cemetery with Spanish American War veterans concluding.

Automobile Crashes Into Barber Shop on East Washington St
A car driven by Mrs. Isa bel Dalby crashed into Don Porter’s barber shop on East Washington Street when it tore through the storefront. Seven people had narrow escapes as the glass front shattered and the vehicle came to rest inside the shop minutes after impact. occupants included William and Agnes Dolby and Mrs. Dalby’s husband and mother. Judge W Lawrence Hildebrand presided as charges were resolved. George Blasic of Bessemer received 100 dollars fine and fifteen months at the workhouse for driving while intoxicated. Thomas Brown pleaded to liquor possession and got 100 dollars and two months in jail. Frank Groom must pay 25 dollars and costs and serve two months for breaking and entering. Sentences dated back to April 6. Tony Torvalene was fined 25 dollars and costs for attempting concealed weapons.

Fleming Named County Detective in Lawrence County
Fleming G. Fleming, a 12 tom avenue resident, was appointed county detective of Lawrence County. The 33-year-old, married father of four served as a first sergeant with the 32nd Infantry in Italy during World War I and later as a U S Army intelligence corps member. He will succeed George S.
