Ada May, noted musical comedy performer, will marry Wilson Potter, a Philadelphia millionaire clubman from a longstanding Pennsylvania family. Potter, divorced from his first wife in 1920, holds high social standing. The wedding is planned for June.
The high school announces its baccalaureate service for Sunday June 2 at 8 pm in the senior high auditorium and class day exercises for Monday June 3 at 8 pm in the Benjamin Franklin Junior High auditorium. The events feature a senior choir of excellent singers and are intended for graduates, parents, and friends.
International News Service reports Guy D. Goff of Clarksburg leading the Republican nomination for United States senator in the state primary. W. E. Chilton trails Mrs Izetta Jewell Brown by about 800 votes for the Democratic nomination. Governor GOP hopeful Howard Gore advances on E T England. Fisher dominates the Democratic governor’s contest as Chilton leads in Kanawha county. Congressional returns are slow to come in.
Rev. A. J. Randles, pastor of the Second United Presbyterian church, left Tuesday for Richmond Indiana to attend an evangelistic conference linked to the church’s general assembly. He spoke this afternoon on Winning the Youth and will be away for several days with no other delegates from the district.

Secretary of the Treasury Mellon will deliver his tax bill report to President Coolidge tonight. Mellon will not discuss his recommendations in advance, but it is understood he views the bill as an improvement and will not urge a veto.
Big Jack Stummy, killed in a Tiltonville street clash with Pennsylvania state police on May 19, was buried today in Upland cemetery at Yorkville. The state funded the funeral after the body remained unclaimed, with $100 found on him applied to expenses. Torti’s arrest relates to a 70 000 dollar holdup and murder near Scranton last July.

The Pennsylvania Board of Pardons granted nine pardons and kept forty-three under advisement as of May 28.
