Reports from Canton and Swatow describe a large Triad uprising in Kwang-Tung's northeast, with 30,000 members in arms and attacks on mandarins and officials. Troops and foreign ships are deployed to restore order as the rebellion targets civil and military authorities.
The state Department of Health withdraws from the permit extension for sewer work in the city. The plan and profile of all local sewers is now due by November 1, and the requirement to replace all present manhole covers with modern designs is withdrawn. Councils may now order sewer improvements under way.
Obituaries report the death of Mrs. James Cameron aged 80 in Eden ing. Giachimeo Perbuto 21 at Newport, Alexander Moore 72 of Oneida Kaw, Infant Mackey of Pearson street, Andrew Birch 70 of Mahoning township and Amzi Sankey 78 of Plaingrove.
Amzi Sankey aged 78, a well known county farmer, died at his Plaingrove home from a stroke suffered Friday night. Born near Harbor Bridge, he lived at the old homestead before moving to Plaingrove area 25 to 30 years ago. Survived by his wife Rebecca Sheaff and three sons and one daughter: Emma, Willis of Sterling Kansas, Rev. Stewart Sankey of Hooktown, C., and Wells of Plaingrove. Funeral Tuesday at 2 PM from his residence, burial in Plaingrove cemetery.
Charles A. Wimer and Maria A. Haney of New Castle have filed a marriage license in New Castle. The record notes both parties as residents seeking to wed in the local jurisdiction.
Chicago dispatch reports the beef trust will delay payment on livestock until post mortem inspection. Packers refuse payment on condemned cattle to protect themselves, triggering concern of a meat shortage and price increases as commission firms urge customers to halt shipments to major markets.
President Roosevelt and four cabinet members will attend the funeral of Mrs Ida McKinley in Canton Ohio. Alexander Moore former Lawrence county resident died May 15 at his home in Oneida Kansas. He moved from Big Beaver township about 25 years ago after a long career as a prosperous farmer. Survived by wife Nancy Reed and two brothers, one in Berkeley Colorado and one in Kansas. Remains interred at Oneida cemetery.
Peter Lewis has made an information before Alderman Ranney charging John Gross with disorderly conduct. A hearing will be held.
Attorney E. M. Underwood spent two weeks visiting friends in North Carolina and has now returned home.
Sheriff Waddington found seven razors and a pocketful of keys on Thomas Cooper during a county jail search this morning. Cooper, arrested by Detective Reid for trespassing on the railroad, received 15 days in jail from Alderman Fulkerson. A second man, David Smith, was jailed 10 days for trespassing on railroad property. George Burkley was discharged after arrest for trespass on the Pennsylvania railroad.
Fire destroyed the Harmony Milling company plant at Harmony on Sunday afternoon. Losses are expected to exceed $35,000 with some coverage by insurance.
Damp weather causes Harriet Sherman to reschedule her May party at the park. On Tuesday at 8 pm she will host a snowball party in Mikado hall, inviting attendees to an indoor gathering.

An AUED woman was attacked and stabbed by a robber at a residence near Mechanicstown Ohio. Police report indicates the crime occurred at a local home with the suspect unidentified. Investigators are assessing injuries and reviewing surveillance to locate the assailant.
Mrs. Thomas Hull, 75, fought two masked intruders while her paralytic husband crawled to a neighbor for help. The attackers demanded money, beat Mrs. Hull and cut her scalp as they looted the old farm home near Mechanicstown. A posse and police search the area.
George Strohecker and Son, contractors, win contract to erect the new power house for the American Can company at the can factory in the Seventh Ward. Building 60 by 80 feet, among the city’s largest, to supply light and power for the works. Two additional large buildings planned. carpenter labor tight.
Attorney W W Stevenson received a letter from Charles McClaren of this city who went to Oregon to oversee the Adeline gold mines owned by New Castle parties. Snow prevents heavy work but plans for summer supply stock to endure next winter are underway. McClaren cites an encouraging report from Frank E Hobson, the mining engineer.
William Eakin, known in the police court and for a recent street incident, was arrested Saturday by Officer Woods after a fight. He received a five day sentence from the mayor in lieu of a $5 fine and is now in county jail.
George Shilling of Sharon was seriously injured Saturday night when struck by an Erie Railroad train.

L E Jones of East Street is listed among degree recipients and Wednesday evening he will receive the Doctor of Maine. He is regarded as one of the city's best known young colored men and many friends anticipate his success.
City officials discuss rehiring Officer McCarthy after his on duty intoxication accusation. The mayor is said to consider appointing a replacement to fill the vacancy while McCarthy may be given a chance to prove himself as a police officer.
