New Castle Council Hears Repository Bids for 11 Properties
Four bidders spoke at Tuesday caucus as 12 bids were filed for 11 properties. One bid of 1012 Agnew St by Howard Chambers Jr. was withdrawn. The council will vote Thursday to approve or deny sales. Tim Thomas bid 250 each for three Croton area lots on Croton Avenue and Martin Street to clear overgrowth. Jemmell Clark, top bidder on three properties, recently returned from Ohio. bids 601.99 for 1006 N Jefferson St, 501.99 for 923 Adams St, and 601.99 for 912 Marshall Ave, the last noted as his favorite in good condition after a death.

Election certification could be next week
Lawrence County elections staff finish counting write-in votes this week and the county board of elections may certify May 18 primary results next week. Ed Allison says write-ins did not affect major races though many no candidate races could see nominations. Thousands of write-in votes occurred. Joshua Lamancusa and Perry Quahriero ran unopposed on Democratic ballots and may be united as Republican candidates too.

Schreck Released To Rehab After Crash
Shenango Area School District Superintendent Dr Michael Schreck has been released from UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and moved to a rehabilitation facility after a April 19 crash on Route 422. His son Aidan remains recovering at home, with community donations and a district relief fund supporting the family.

Hearing reset for Louis Esposito in Dewey Avenue killings
A preliminary hearing is continued for Louis Vincent Esposito 59 of 1019 Dewey Ave charged with two counts of criminal homicide one count of attempted criminal homicide and one count of escape in a May 12 attack that killed his mother Margaret Kahrer 81 and landlord John Micco 78 and wounded neighbor Kevin Ross 54. The new hearing is set for 11 a.m. May 25 with defense by John J Bonvengengo. Ross is recovering at home and fundraising efforts support his medical expenses. Esposito remains jailed without bond.
