Mrs Summers is held for grand jury amid allegations she poisoned four men. Authorities say insurance proceeds were collected from the deaths. The case centers on a pattern of suspicious fatalities and financial gain investigations.
Joe Caccia and mechanic Clarence Grove were killed when their Jones Maley Special careened over a retaining wall at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Traveling about 100 mph, the car hit a tree, burst into flames, and rolled over trapping them. Caccia, 31, from Bryn Mawr, and Grove, 23, from Haverford, were practicing for the 500 mile race. Both were identified with surviving relatives.
In Chicago on May 26 the coroner's inquest found chronic arsenic poisoning caused four of five deaths at Mrs. Margaret Summers home. Summers collected life insurance on each victim and denied responsibility as the jury urged grand jury charges for murder. The victims included her husband Thomas Summers and her 17 year old nephew Thomas Meyers, with other boarders named Lanagan and Rieman. Summers died during the proceedings. Dr. Clarence W. Muehlberger testified arsenic was present in the victims' organs.

Howard Bridgetts a wealthy New York merchant surrendered to police admitting I took three shots at the doctor and then shot myself. He was wounded and taken to a hospital. Dr Joseph T Loughlin, Brooklyn physician, was found dead in a park after a quarrel and a drive away from his home. Police suspect a pistol duel or a fist fight ending in a shot.
Miss Blanche Best general secretary of the East Liberty YWCA will speak at the New Castle unit's annual meeting in the Green Room of the association building tonight. She has spent nine years in YWCA work.

Harrisburg May 26 The Weingartner bill signed by Governor Pinchot shifts half of bridge construction and maintenance costs to the state for crossings between third class cities and bore townships. Lawrence county will save about 60000 as the Mahoning river bridge at New Castle near the seventh ward no longer requires local funding.

The Business Conduct committee sent a questionnaire to all members seeking data on stock borrowing and lending to reveal the most influential figures in the bear clique and restore market confidence.
Autoists report the new concrete and steel bridge over Slippery Rock at McCracken s near Harlansburg on the Perry highway is opened for traffic replacing an old span. The nearby Grant City viaduct under construction will soon be ready and will remove detours between Butler road and Harlansburg road. State workers are finishing parking areas at intersections with flowers planted and grassed plots, and new signs direct traffic to the Jordan state game farm.
New York May 26 Police awaited a so called higher up arrest in the Vivian Gordon murder mystery. Reports say a wealthy man accused by Miss Gordon of blackmail may have hired Samuel Greenberg and Harry Stein to kill her. Greenberg and Stein face indictments while Schlitten and Isidor Lewis are held under guard. Mrs Madeline Tully a material witness is bail bound at 25000 dollars and denies knowledge of the crime.
Pittsburgh May 26 Mrs Joseph Dusch 36 who married at 24 smiles as she cradles her second set of twins in 14 months She already has six other children two boys a girl and boy twins and plans for quadruplets next year praising a baby a year for six years followed by two sets of twins as a good rule of health.
Vienna May 26 four demonstrators were killed and thirty wounded when police clashed with communists in Kossuth Czechoslovakia. Police charged the mob before it dispersed. several injuries reported serious.
