Attempted dynamite attack on Lazzero home shocks community
A blast placed several sticks of dynamite on a bedroom window sill at the Lazzero residence near New Castle Cement works destroyed one side of the house and injured Mr and Mrs Lazzero while their two children escaped unharmed. County Detective Dunlap investigated but yielded no clues, suspecting a Black Hand style plot aimed at killing the family.

Elmer Vickers of Wabash Avenue, driver for Michael Scanlon of North Liberty Street, suffered a broken shoulder when he stumbled behind a team of horses in the Scanlon rear alley. Three P and L E section men injured in truck crash
Three section men from Lowellville were thrown from a section truck near Edenburg this morning when the wheels jumped the track. John Mooney Dominick Strange and Tony Abrotiel lo suffered facial and shoulder injuries but no broken bones. They were taken to Shenango Valley hospital for treatment and are expected to be discharged soon.
