Rebel stronghold attacked near Angolan border in Zaire
Zairean forces backed by fighter bombers attacked the rebel stronghold at Dilalo on the Angolan border. AZAP said Zairean and Moroccan troops entered the town Friday night and predicted its imminent capture. Recapture of Ditolo and Kisenge would leave only two rebel towns. Air mishaps in Niagara leave one hospitalized
Two separate incidents near Niagara Falls and Grand Island involved a light plane and a seaplane. Harold R. Fairhurst of Wooster Ohio, 99, suffered a fractured skull when his Cessna 80 collided with the ground near Brant in Erie County during takeoff from a field near Czttareous Indian Reservation. A Coast Guard report says a seaplane flipped in the Niagara River after losing a pontoon. the pilot Robert Andrews and an unnamed passenger escaped injury. Federal investigators described the seaplane mishap as under review.

Sewickley Bridge Reopens After Repairs
The Sewickley Bridge over the Ohio River reopened Friday after repairs that began March 15. A three ton load limit and a 10 mph speed limit remain. The bridge connects Sewickley with Coraopolis and Moon Township to Pittsburgh airport. An $8 million permanent replacement is planned but funding depends on the legislature.

Former policeman guilty of first degree murder
NORRISTOWN Pa Former Upper Moreland policeman John J Palmer was found guilty of first degree murder in the slaying of Deborah Arm Hales, a 43 year old Warrington woman shot Jan 4. A 30 hour jury deliberation led to a life sentence recommendation though the state sought the death penalty. Palmer confessed and investigators found his nameplate beneath the victim’s body in a church parking lot.
