Fabbri will give the benediction, with music by the Red Coat Band and local artists. Arthur H. Walker will decorate the Honor Roll with war veterans assisting. Clearing of site to begin for 12 unit housing project
Richard Hietsch of the Lawrence County Housing Authority announced start of demolition for seven Grant Street structures to clear the way for a 120 unit 13 story public housing project at Grant and Beaver. A $1.7 million contract was awarded to Joseph Ciolfi Trucking Co. bids for construction will follow after PHA approval. The project aims to erect a 120 unit building at the corner of Grant and Beaver streets.

County sells two parcels in Taylor Township at auction
County Commissioners yesterday sold two parcels in Taylor Township to two bidders for a total of 450. Glenn Burnside of 461 West Pittsburgh Rd bought the former Island Peak property for 200. The Pennsylvania Power Co. purchased the Wilbert and Ruth Peak property at 402 West Pittsburgh Rd for 250. The land and house, taxed in 1958, were previously acquired by the county in a treasurer's sale and the house was demolished in February.

Free man after 43 years ends long pursuit
A man identified as Nightower, born September 28 1878 in Groves Texas, was freed after a 1921 conviction and 26 parole denials. He attracted attention by claiming a priest’s grave at Salada Beach near Pacifica, leading to discovery of a body and his conviction. He finally gained parole freedom on March 2.

The 66 year old Highland Avenue School was sold today for 4000 to Gasperoni Real Estate. The two story brick building built for 45000 on the corner of Highland and Laurel has been vacant since 1963 when students moved to John F Kennedy School. Maintenance costs run about 2200 yearly. If demolished, some equipment may return to the district and the property will return to the tax rolls. Gasperoni has no definite plans yet.
