The Castleton hotel project progresses despite rain with south side brickwork finished and much of the face brick and stonework on other sides completed. Two weeks remain for brick work. plastering to begin before June 1 and full completion expected by September 1. Interior work will follow with partitions nearly done and carpenters to start woodwork, all walls and floors using reinforced concrete or tile for fireproofing and sound reduction.

A New Castle traffic officer issued parking tags for vehicles on the public square and North Street after a new order limited parking to 1.43 hours. State Highway Department officials were notified to arrange fines for cars exceeding the limit, including some bearing official plates.

Joseph Yokel released on parole as a material witness. Tests showed liquor in the car. Fair fled then surrendered after the Pittsburgh accident. Irene Wiebreck testified she had loaned Fair money.
North Beaver Grange presented their play Aunt Jerusha on the Warpath on Thursday evening May 19 at the Willard Grange hall. A large enthusiastic audience enjoyed the performance and plans are to repeat it at other places in the county.
