Mayor eyes Tri-State sale of downtown garage and lots

Mayor Richard Christofer announced Tri-State Realty Co could lease purchase the downtown parking garage and three city lots for 1.4 million over ten years. The deal would shift authority responsibilities to the city while the Parking Authority loses management duties and the city bears debt and maintenance costs. Council support is not guaranteed, and negotiations hinge on a formal agreement.
