76-Year-Old Wins Long Dream Graduation at Penn State
Alvin Petrossi, 76, after a 48 year sabbatical from higher education, will graduate from Pennsylvania State University with 90 credits toward a political science degree. He joined the night program for senior citizens in 1979 and then completed daytime classes, joining 4,920 spring grads at Beaver Stadium. He says he never expected to make it and believes he may be the oldest graduating senior in the country.
