Youth thrown from car in U S 422 crash injures boy
A 11?year old boy was injured when thrown from a car on U S 422 east of the city. Jerry Dennis of 24 Forest St. Jein St. Francis Hospital today in good condition with a broken rib back sprain and whiplash. Charlotte Demme 22 of 909 N Mercer St suffered facial cuts knee scrapes and lip bruises and is at St Francis in satisfactory condition. Police say Demme signaled then turned into the right lane and struck Dennis broadside. Dennis was ejected about 30 feet. Demme wore a seat belt, Dennis did not. A charge of failure to yield right of way is pending against Dennis. Demme car about $550 damage. In a second yesterday, Thomas Vaughan 17 RD 2 ran into rear of a parkage truck operated by Larry List 17 of 1758 last Break Bd on Harbor Rd Union Township. Vaughan treated for chest pain and released. Vaughan’s car about $1,300 damage and List’s truck about $200.

Skeleton of 4 month old found in car tire well
In Columbus Ohio a 19 year old man William Smith and his 18 year old wife Melinda were jailed for failure to notify the county coroner after police found a baby skeleton in the tire well of their station wagon. They said the infant died April 21 in Erie Pennsylvania during a trip and was wrapped in a blanket and left in the tire well. A relative alerted authorities.
