A monster petition with 45 000 signers declares farmers will refuse to support any candidate who aids the reciprocity bill. The campaign labels reciprocity as a deal they oppose and demands a square deal in government.
Bitter opposition to President Taft's reciprocity pact was voiced before the Senate Finance committee by farmers from Connecticut Massachusetts New Hampshire Illinois Minnesota New York Michigan Missouri West Virginia Pennsylvania Maine Kentucky Colorado Oregon Washington.
A major mid May farmers uproar before the Senate Finance committee marks a week of demonstrations against the U S Canada reciprocity treaty. Michigan petitions exceed 50 000 with pledges to oppose any candidate backing the bill. Minnesota led protests with 35 000 signatures while grange leaders like N J Bachelder urge unity against terms seen as harming farmers.
Las Vegas New Mexico May 13 report says Will Rogers and Joe Wiggins will plead guilty next Monday to the kidnaping of little Waldo Rogers. It is believed Rogers will abandon temporary insanity and seek mercy from the court.

Insurgents debate peace while state forces still hold Juarez, with rebels frustrated by warrants amid Orozco Garibaldi tensions and the Juarez victory.
John M. Ward said he sought vindication not money after a jury awarded him $1000 against Ban Johnson, president of the American League, in a slander case arising from Johnson’s alleged statements during Ward’s National League presidency candidacy. The verdict hinges on which witnesses were believed.
Oliver Merchant of Pittsburg head of Western Pennsylvania Woodmen of the World presided at last night’s local camp meeting. He named H. B. Elliott as special organizer for New Castle and presented several new names with plans to build one of the largest camps in the area.
Edward C. White theatrical manager and husband of actress Mildred Holland filed for bankruptcy in New York. Liabilities amount to 52,765 with assets of 1,292 including 350 debts. Unsecured creditor list includes Miss Holland herself for 10,334 in loans.
Lawson Sankey of Walnut street has returned from a five month stay near the Mexican frontier. He left in December and has been in New Mexico near the border line, arriving home yesterday. He was within 40 miles of major battle zones and says he is familiar with current conditions in the Mexico conflict.
John La Gala faced Alderman Mayne on a charge of attempting to assault Mrs. Philomena Rotuna. He was discharged upon paying costs after sensational testimony about threats by a Black Hand figure and alleged romance. Mrs Rotuna testified of entreaties to leave her husband and of a jointly photographed scene showing La Gala holding her hand.
Judge A Z Blair who dis franchised 2000 Ohio voters in the Adams county scandal will speak Sunday in Youngstown under the Personal Workers league. He will discuss Good Citizenship at Trinity M E Church starting 3 p m. The Adams county case has drawn national attention and locals plan to attend.
Linus Amon aged 78 of Orangeville is reported deceased. John Irwin aged 65 is also listed as deceased.

Property owners along Sennett street formerly Cottage street in the Sixth ward protest the new street name. A petition will be presented to councils Monday night after a batch of 15 to 20 streets was renamed by council action.
The city recorded 86 births and 52 deaths during the month with 45 male and 41 female births and 28 male and 24 female deaths. The 1910 figures for the same period were 45 male births and 46 female births, and 33 male and 28 female deaths.
Margaret Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Lewis of Woodlawn, fractured her left arm Friday while playing at home, the second such injury in six weeks after a previous break to her right arm. The fracture is described as severe and the Lewis family holds many local friends in regret.
Teachers faced annual examinations at the high school as non certified educators gathered Saturday morning. The tests opened at 8:30 with a large turnout of teachers participating in the evaluations.
Dietz, defender of Cameron's dam, is led to a life prison term after a jury finds him guilty of first degree murder in the October 8, 1910 shootout that killed Deputy Sheriff Oscar Harp. Mrs Dietz and their son Leslie were acquitted. Dietz vows to appeal as he denounces the lumber trust and laments legal unfairness.
Friends report Captain William H. McCandless of Pittsburg street is in critical condition with uremic poisoning and related illnesses. He has been in poor health for months and has been unconscious for several days, with little hope of recovery.

Members of the Welsh Baptist church from Johnstown Pennsylvania to East Greenville Connecticut gather today at the Emmanuel Baptist church on Reynolds street for a joint conference. The opening session started at 10:30 this morning with ministers and delegates. a special preaching service is planned for tonight. Three services are scheduled Sunday with out of town ministers delivering sermons and special music featured at each service.
In Mt. Jackson High School’s Tuesday commencement the name Miss Edna Cox was omitted from the list of graduates. Miss Cox presented the class address to the Class of 1912, with a response by Miss Anna Benson of the junior class.

The Second Brigade National Guard of Pennsylvania will hold its annual encampment in Indiana, Pa., July 22 to 29 with more than 4,500 personnel. Maj. C C Wiley urges anti typhoid vaccination for all attendees as engineers map 4000 acres for maneuver ground and roads. The Lee brigade includes the Tenth, Fourteenth, Sixteenth and Eighteenth Regiments, Battery B, Troop F, and the Sheridan Troop. National Guard officers plan safety measures to curb Typhoid.
