Public service job funds reach Pennsylvania total
The Labor Department announced a nationwide 6.6 billion allocation for public service jobs, with Pennsylvania receiving 348.7 million and Lawrence County alone getting about 3.73 million. The funds are to create or maintain roughly 720,000 jobs over the next five years under a new bill Carter may sign.

County official advised on use of envelopes in campaign
County solicitor Frank G. Verterano told the Board of Elections that District Justice Merle Hart will stop using county envelopes for campaign materials and will reimburse the county for stationery.
