Accidents injure no one. two cited by city police
City police reported two yesterday accidents with no injuries. Florence Guidos of Struthers pulled from a lot on Sampson Street, colliding with Joseph Woza of 2003 Wilson Ave. Ext. Woza then struck Mary Flaherty of Chapio Radi, who hit James Mardis of 117 Fairmont Ave. Damages totaled 1325. Guidos cited for failure to yield. A second crash on EE Washington Street involved Damon Cable of Ellwood City and Larry Robb of West Middlesex, with damages 250. Robb cited for following too closely. The Willard Grange meets Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Grange hall. Mrs. Chester Campbell will present Japan photos.

Cab driver acts as lawyer for narcotics case
Edward Wiga, 43, a Lancaster cab driver, pleaded guilty to possession of narcotics and was given a nine month jail term. He represented himself and said he went to Tangier Island to treat residents after hearing the area lacked a doctor. He claimed prior medical training in Budapest but failed the U.S. medical exam.

Two Youths Killed in One Car Crash Near Clarion

Navy ROTC withdrawn at Harvard amid policy shift
The Navy has pulled its Reserve Officer Training Corps at Harvard after the university made ROTC an extracurricular activity. The Air Force will keep its ROTC at four of eight schools slated to lose it, continuing at Butler University, Capital University, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Lawrence University after campuses boosted ROTC enrollments to acceptable levels.

State Supreme Court bars township liquor sales zoning
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that zoning laws cannot block clubs from selling liquor. The decision involved Graystone Country Club at Spring Two in Berks County and overturned a county court ruling that the club operated illegally within a Farm District. The court held that townships may not zone areas by liquor sales since state control rests with the Liquor Control Board.
