Suitcases were ransacked. the room showed a desperate struggle. Mrs Gill lived in Atholboro Massachusetts but resided at the hotel since January after a six month eastern visit. She previously worked at the lobby gift shop of the Stevens hotel and had two years at the W.C.G.A.
The Jordan State Game Farm near Harlansburg reports the year's first Tingneckad pacasint peeps emerging from shells. Farm supervisor W. T. Warfel says the hatch looks good and about 2,000 birds are expected to occupy brooders tomorrow, with another hatch due next week.
Schoolchildren enjoyed an extra holiday as Friday dismissal occurred at 3 pm due to heat. In New Castle and Lawrence county on Sunday special programs marked Mother's Day observances. At 1 pm a convoy of forty seven khaki trucks rolled through New Castle from the Diamond toward the courthouse, tightly spaced with no stops. no soldiers were aboard.

Hopkins was challenged by Senator Holt of West Virginia to personally investigate alleged graft and political corruption in the West Virginia WPA. Holt charges WPA officials used workers to back Senator Neely in the upcoming primary under threat of job loss. He says Neely influences WPA officials to build a political machine in the state. Dagat Taye, an opponent of Selassie, has not seen the emperor in 25 years, while U S officials prepare for a Harrisburg conference on the weekend.

In Shamokin Pennsylvania Herbert Knerr a 54 year old hardware salesman died by his own action with carbon monoxide fumes in his garage after a crash on the Shamokin Treverton highway that killed one man and injured another. Fellow workers offered help but found him dead as police learned the accident involved Leslie Haupt 24 and John Mowery 45.
About 100000 spectators packed Lakehurst New Jersey seeking a glimpse of the Hindenburg after its Atlantic crossing. Officials restricted viewing to prevent crowding and fire risk as traffic clogged roads and parking was limited to Lakehurst village near the air station.
Washington May predict the case will not reach a jury before Tuesday as defense lawyers call witnesses. David G. Riggle, an insurance man, testifies he did not shoot James C. Algeo, a lodge financial officer, in a dispute over lodge funds. Algeo had threatened self harm and was fatally wounded during the struggle.

Mary A Gallagher aged 87 of Shene vngo township is listed with cause and death details. William J Mitchell aged 22 of New Gall ee is noted in the death records. John Willey Beale aged 79 of Bexsemer is recorded, along with John Seger aged 74 of 410 Reisstron. Harry Llewellyn Dunlap aged 68 of Van Nuys California appears in the death notices.

Lehigh Portland Cement Company will restart its Lehigh plant Monday morning as supervisor Wesley Davy announced. About 200 workers will be affected by the order. a large force has prepared the plant over the past two weeks. Only former employees will be rehired, and all dispositions are now filed. The duration of operation depends on demand for cement.
Boston police hope a Boston-made dancing shoe and other clothing pieces will identify a headless 20 year old girl found in the Clue river near Portsmouth. Officials say the body likely recent in water and the head may have been severed by a knife or debris. Special Officer William Ross notes two tap dancers vanished from Boston in six months as part of the missing persons inquiry.
The German airship Hindenburg completed the first regular commercial north Atlantic light voyage with 31 passengers and 50 crew. The 61 hour 38 minute crossing surpassed prior records from Europe to North America as it landed at Lakehurst New Jersey. Passengers disembarked by 7 28 a m as the ship was secured in the hangar and officials reported the official end of the voyage.
