The victims included Mrs Barry Charles Berry White Sox catcher his father and Mrs Haberkorn wife of Illinois senate sergeant at arms.
Judge R J Hildebrand refused an arrest of judgment in the Kozamczak felonious assault and battery case tied to the August 25 1932 shooting of Joseph Melnyk of People's Savings and Trust. Kozamczak will be sentenced after ongoing continuance questions and a mixed court history.
In Washington a United States Chamber of Commerce dinner drew remarks on keeping government from politics and the widespread use of government aid. Roosevelt and Jones discussed adversity and a touting of collaboration as a new international slogan. McDonald echoed the sentiment with a quip on the word got.
Three passengers in Arthur Cunningham’s car from Wampum escaped with minor injuries when a theft machine turned upside down at the Vacuum Oil Company service station on North Liberty Street, south of Swansea Avenue. It struck Walter Gross’s left front fender as he attempted a left turn into the service station property. The Cunningham Chevrolet sedan halted at the station.
County Assistant Superintendent Clare Book ends his duties today after submitting his resignation to County Superintendent John. The change becomes effective Monday as he leaves to become a representative for the American Book Company in Western Pennsylvania, with travel to New York for familiarization with duties.
Thirty unemployed men were hired today by the state's cooperative employment bureau for rural road projects starting Monday. R L Meermans, employment superintendent, announced the jobs and program details.

Harwich Massachusetts May 6 Brig General Needham announced custody of two men Cyril Buck and Kenneth Buck in connection with the Peggy McMath kidnapping. The four involved were Neil C McMath William Lee Cyril Buck and Harald Sawyer aboard the Lee boat The Bob with Peggy when found by a coast guard vessel. Needham expected an important break within hours and kept the men available for further questioning.
In Hazleton Pennsylvania on May 6 a masked bandit attempting to steal a $4000 payroll from Liebowitz and Son shirt factory was thwarted when superintendent A W Rossman fired at the fleeing thief forcing the bag to drop. Employee Eugene Salvetire was struck on the head with a pipe and hospitalized. both Rossman and Salvetire were later in custody at the payroll location.
Announcement by George J. Murphy of A. W. Kutsche company states two contracts for the new post office. Matthew Leibo and Son of New Castle win the stone-setting job using Pennsylvania stone from Clearfield. Lawrence Roofing and Supply of New Castle secures waterproofing duties. work to start within days.
John S. Jackson Jr, treasury department engineer on the new post office project in New Castle, leaves Monday for Washington DC to be assigned to another project. He has led the local job since it began, former head from Youngstown, Ohio. He is succeeded by Miles D. Myers from Wichita Falls, Texas.
Applicants for playground instructor positions are being directed to L G Genkinger director of city grounds. Playgrounds won t open until June and no hires will be made until the recreation board meets with likely only a few persons being employed. The facilities will not operate on the previous large scale.
Boston newspaper reports from Harwichport that four arrests are expected within four hours in the Peggy McMath kidnapping plot. City council announced emergency relief orders will put 50 unemployed men to work on city projects starting Monday. Each worker will be paid for six days next week with coverage funded by relief orders and an added 350 in insurance costs.
