Fire damages Mahoning school second floor from defective wiring
A two alarm fire on Cedar Street damaged part of the Mahoning School late Tuesday night causing an estimated 5000 dollars in damage. Firemen arrived before 11 p m finding flames from a north window and heavy smoke likely from a smoldering blaze in the second floor supply room. The fire started from defective wiring near a refrigerator in the supply room. Six city engines and off duty crews fought the blaze, with three firefighters slightly injured including Herman Steinbrink who was scalded by water.
