The 1900 to 1904 unofficial census estimates show the United States population at 91,424,428 with an increase of 15,121,636. Greater New York totals 4,563,603, up 1,126,401 since 1900, while Chicago is 2,282,926 and Philadelphia 1,540,429.
Joe Yeskit, known for fence jumping, is in New Castle hospital with a broken collar bone after a fall from a moving train. City and county officials, with federal officers in Pittsburg, study his case to determine if he was demented when he landed in the U S. If proven, the steamship company that brought him here would cover his expenses and care during deportation.

Clarence Wallace of Wurtemburg was rearrested by County Detective Breen and jailed on $1000 bail for assaulting Mary E. O Connell. Edward Majors escaped from a front room during questioning and is to be recaptured. District Attorney Dickey found bonds by the fathers were invalid as title to land lay with the wives, leaving both bonds worthless.
State witnesses testified that strychnine and cyanide were found in Col. Thomas H. Swope and family members. Experts said deaths were caused by poison not apoplexy or meningitis, as Mrs Logan C Swope prepared to testify in the Hyde case.
St. Paul's Luther league marked its anniversary with a joint meeting of St. John's Luther league and elected delegates for the Pittsburg Central convention to be held next Tuesday in Pittsburg. The remains of Thomas Simpson of Kellogg Michigan who died at She Nnango Valley hospital last Tuesday will be buried this afternoon in the city cemetery. He came to the city sick and penniless, sought aid from Mayor Lusk, was taken to the city home, then to the hospital where he died. no relatives or inquiries have been found.
The old McKinley homestead west of Girard will be fitted up as a museum. A number of interesting McKinley relics have already been received.
The condition of Frank Connery, chief of the New Castle fire department, is reported to be about the same with very little improvement while undergoing treatment at Mt. Clemens.

Business Agent Patterson says union carpenters walked out after talks between carpenter and contractor committees. The strike targets a 35 cent daily wage raise and workers may return once differences are settled.
