Hostages Talk Through Intermediaries In London Siege
Iranian-Arab gunmen hold about 20 hostages in the Iranian Embassy and meet two intermediaries for the first time since the siege began. One mediator is journalist John Exelby. the other’s identity is unknown. Britain warns of more psychology moves as Iran rejects blackmail while the captors demand the release of 91 Arabs jailed in Khuzestan and a flight for escape. One hostage, a British man, was released.

Gunman surrenders after hijacking PSA jet to Iran
In Stockton California a gunman demanded to fly to Iran to secure hostages release and took a crew member hostage for six hours aboard a Pacific Southwest Airlines Boeing 727. Stephen Bilson 25 of Ceres California surrendered to FBI agents after disarming him and reading a statement over the plane radio. The engineer Romatowski 27 of San Diego aided in stopping the crisis and Bilson was to be charged with air piracy in Sacramento California.
