Traction wage talks settle partly for Mahoning Valley line
Workers on the Sharon division Park and Falls and Mahoning Valley traction systems reached a partial settlement at a Wednesday conference in Youngstown. Rates of 21 22 and 23 cents per hour with 40 minutes for lunch were approved for two years, but unified rates across the merged system were rejected due to differing charters and local contracts. A vote by local 272 Mahoning Valley employers is set for early next week as managers promise fair treatment and a calm outcome to avoid strikes.
