Ex-employees to receive TRA benefits for 2000 Western PA workers
The Training Readjustment Act will pay retroactive benefits to nearly 2,000 workers in Western Pennsylvania including about 100 former Shenango China employees after an unemployment referee upheld the 1987 Jakiela ruling. The decision allows laid off workers to begin TRA checks when notice of layoff occurs and extends eligibility up to two years plus relocation and retraining support.
