Ugandan Earthquake Kills Over 100 in Western Uganda

Police helicopters moved doctors and supplies into western Uganda after a powerful earthquake near Lake Albert. The tremor struck Sunday morning with long aftershocks lasting four hours and registered 7.7 on European seismographs. Authorities report more than 100 dead and many injured in a seismically active border region between Uganda and the Congo.

Recovery of bomb halted by rough seas

Recovery of the missing American H-bomb off Palomares Spain was postponed due to high winds and rough seas delaying underwater lifting operations. Navy crews, with the 6th Fleet on standby, had faced prior mechanical issues and electrical troubles aboard research craft as they sought to recover the weapon resting 2,500 feet down on an underwater ridge.

Police use living model to aid killer hunt

Three youths held in Greenville police slaying

Patrolman Rodney Wentling were killed in Greenville as police tracked three suspects from West Mifflin Allegheny County after a car chase in Corry. William Fawcett 15 Edward Fawcett 14 and Ronald Hardin 14 surrendered after their stolen car crashed. Detectives recovered two BB guns and recovered firearms stolen from a gun cabinet.

At least 40 witnesses report a blinking object landing in a swamp near Ann Arbor Michigan Sunday night police said. Twelve witnesses are being questioned as part of the investigation into the sighting.
