Interstate 79 rehabilitation work resumes next week in Butler County
Construction on a 10 mile stretch of I-79 between Exit 25 Mars and Exit 27 will restart next week and run this year. Brodhead Construction Co. of Zelienople will handle the project in Harmony Zelienople Cranberry and Jackson Townships with traffic restrictions starting April 3. Motorists will face limited daylight restrictions the first week and single lane limits in each direction thereafter. southbound and northbound lanes will close at mile markers 77 to 84, and both northbound lanes will close from 84 to 87, with two way traffic in the remaining northbound lanes.

Mishap kills Shenango man on Pa 65 in Shenango Twp
Frederick C. Freinstein, 32, of Allegheny Avenue, died in a one vehicle crash on Pa 65 about 11:30 PM Saturday. Freinstein, not wearing a seatbelt, lost control near Gardner Center Road, the truck leaving the road and hitting an embankment. The pickup, owned by a city resident, was destroyed.
