City council approves pursuing legislation to gauge voter support for future sewer and street bond issues. Current bonds total 1 045 million with a 56.68 million assessed value. proposed bonding would exceed current limit without a vote.

He leaves wife Rachel Pollock Taylor and three children Maxine Verna Mae and David Pollock plus his parents and two Pittsburgh brothers. Funeral set for Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence.
Death records list Dr Howard D Taylor age 33 of 225 Sheridan Avenue and Mrs Adeline M Jefferies age 74 of 1037 Adams Street as residents named in the notice. The document records their ages and addresses without additional biographical detail.
The New Castle Automobile Dealers Association presents an exhibit of 88 cars from 15 dealers in the Scottish Rite cathedral dining and ball rooms. Her supervisor calls her exceedingly efficient and no other signs emerged from friends and family.
Police investigate a rare accidental shooting on East Sutton Street in which five-year-old Mike Cioppa was wounded in the arm and side by a 38 caliber bullet fired from a revolver held by Anthony Rozzi, also five. Rozzi claims he pulled the trigger accidentally. both boys were playing upstairs at the Rozzi home. The injured Cioppa was treated at New Castile hospital and is expected to recover as police question Rozzi and his father.
Governor John B. Fisher plans to travel to Washington to testify before the Senate sub committee investigating the bituminous situation. He indicated he would consider the invitation after a long distance call with Senator Watson. Reports had linked him to calls for subpoena in the Western Pennsylvania probe.
Wal ter Donahue 34 his sister Elizabeth 35 and their mother 65 died on the top floor of a Uphams Corner four story apartment house in a fire that left six others injured and endangered twenty families while 250 residents fled to the street. Police and firefighters made daring rescues as flames swept through the building.
Congressman J Howard Swick of Beaver Falls will join Colonel Charles A Lindbergh for a Thursday morning flight over Washington. Lindbergh will use a large army monoplane to carry six to eight lawmakers, following Speaker Nicholas Longworth as the first to accept the invitation.
Message from Davenport Iowa reports Kegarise and Lt Morris en route from Denver in a new plane. They claim to average 100 miles an hour and expect to land near the field club on the Wilmington road this afternoon, weather permitting.
North Beaver township contracts for two bridges were awarded Monday afternoon after a meeting of state county and township officials at the Medard store room. The Leonard run bridge near Moravia was let to John Byers for 5619 with eight bidders total. other bids ranged up to 91904.66. A smaller Honey creek branch culvert went to W F Ferry for 825. The county pays 1500 toward the Leonard run project and the state covers half the total, with the township covering the remainder.
Relatives arrived as eight bodies identified by a naval expert at Chelsea Hospital Massachusetts after the S-4 submarine collision with the destroyer Paulding. The fallen sailors included Lieut Graham Fitch and Roger L. Short among others from Washington Missouri New Jersey Massachusetts Rhode Island Nebraska Ontario and Anguilla. Bodies were recovered from the hull at Charlestown Navy Yard and brought to the hospital after three months entombment.
