Vincent G Wadlinger of 113 Guadalcanal Road serves as General Supervisor of Rate and Statistics for Pennsylvania Power Co. He is identified as Crusade chairman in the provided notice.
Wadlinger will serve as chairman of the 1969 Cancer Crusade in the area. Appointment by Dr. Roland Nord of the Lawrence County Unit of the American Cancer Society. Crusade aims at education via literature and films and funds for local patient services and research. Wadlinger, a 1968 vice chairman, notes 2500 county residents contribute yearly. he is a New Castle native and World War II veteran.

Kathy Shea vanished in Tyrone Pennsylvania while on her way to kindergarten one day shy of four years ago. Last seen at 12 20 PM March 18 1965 by a neighbor who waved goodbye. State police say the case remains unsolved with no new leads despite a wide search and bloodhounds losing her trail in an alley where a car may have picked her up.
A head-on crash near the Indiana Cambria County line killed Rev. Paul Younger 39 and Lawrence Muschar 37 and Viola Wemer 53 of Pittsburgh. Nine teenagers on a church retreat were among 11 injured, with Frank Wemer 51 hospitalized in critical condition. Four teens Morrison 13 Greene 16 Harris 17 Turner 14 were in serious condition.

U S Savings Bonds and Freedom Shares sales in Pennsylvania totaled 42,126,547 in January, down 1 percent or 643,000 from a year earlier. Lawrence County residents bought 241,564 worth of bonds in January. The 1969 county quota is 3,138,000, with Arnold Satz serving as county chairman for the drive.
State police Lt Harold G. Rice commander of the Joral substation completed a command course at the State Police Academy in Hershey Pennsylvania. He was among 40 commanding officers statewide to finish the program.
Dr J E F Buff of Charleston WV, a member of the West Virginia physicians committee, says the new state compensation law is too susceptible to manager control. He notes miners favor an independent lung lab over a three doctor board to detect black lung and warns miners may strike again if stronger legislation is not enacted at a summer special session. More than 80 000 miners had already struck to press for the current law.
A private railroad car once used by former President Harry S. Truman for his 1948 campaign will be auctioned Thursday. The midnight blue and gold car, built in 1940 for the Frisco line, features a mahogany dining room, three bedrooms and three showers. The current owner is Thomas F. Baker of San Francisco, who bought it from the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway.

In Los Angeles defense lawyers in the Sirhan B. Sirhan murder trial plan at least three more weeks of psychiatric expert questioning. Dr. Martin M. Schorr calls Sirhan psychotic paranoid with schizo phrenic tendencies, describing a Jekyll and Hyde personality. Sirhan, who killed Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, says he cannot remember the shooting. prosecutors seek to show he was fully capable at the time. The trial enters its 11th week and is expected to run another month as Sirhan turns 25 Wednesday.
Golda Meir received an overwhelming confidence vote in the Knesset and took the oath as Israel's fourth prime minister since 1948. Former premier Ben-Gurion abstained. Meir pledged to resist world powers imposing settlements and not return captured Arab lands until peace is achieved. Her cabinet remained intact.
Five people were injured in a head on collision on Ellwood Ho Saturday at 11 10 p m Patricia Musitano 35 of Bessemer in satisfactory condition with head knee and chest injuries her husband Samuel 41 in good condition with a fractured rib nose and facial bruises their 11 year old child Jody treated for a chin bruise and released 11 year old Barbara Cosgrove a passenger in the Musitano vehicle in good condition with head and leg bruises Driver Claire Druschel 48 of Ellwood City also in good condition with a nose cut State police said the Drusehel car swerved into the northbound lane and hit the Musitano vehicle damage about 1500 dollars.
Defense Secretary Melvin Laird will defend President Nixon's modified ABM system before two Senate panels this week. First in a private session Wednesday with the Armed Services panel, then Friday in a public hearing before the Foreign Relations Committee. The plan envisions defense missiles around offensive missile sites in the United States.

Two fires in the city caused an estimated 750 damage yesterday and early today. A chimney fire which extended to a roof at 6 a.m. today at New Castle Packing Co. on Mahoning Ave caused 250 damage, firemen report. Flames from a burning tree extended to the garage of Edward Malley, 225 N. Ray St. at 8:05 a.m. yesterday causing 500 damage.
Lawrence County voters in nine boroughs will nominate four councilmen on May 20, Ellwood City will choose five. Filing entries include Ellwood City Republicans William G. Strouse Jr. and Clemente Ottavio, ward by ward slates for Democrats and Republicans, plus tax collector and auditor filings.
