Ray Earl Ray sentenced to 99 years for King killing in Memphis
James Earl Ray pleaded guilty to the April 4 1968 assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in Memphis. He received a 99 year term with eligibility for parole in 30 years. The judge noted no conspiracy was proven but FBI investigations remain open. Ray will serve in Tennessee State Prison Nashville in cell No 4.
