Two Ohio Men Die in Dahlonega Plane Crash
Two men tentatively identified as Roger A. Miller of Norwood and George Mengle of Lebanon, both Ohio residents, were killed when a twin-engine Beech craft crashed near Dahlonega Georgia. The victims were en route to Cuba and were due to stop in Atlanta about 75 miles away. Witnesses said the plane circled overhead in heavy overcast before the crash.

Tornado Tears Through Harlansburg Area Ripping Home and Barns
A baby-sized tornado roared along a 100 yard wide path two miles south of Harlansburg before 6 am. It toppled Harold Hunt’s house on Route 19 destroying two garages and damaging two cars, then struck Randall Book’s barn. Six people were inside the Hunt home. one boy, Glenn, was bruised. The storm moved across fields, blew a truck bed twenty yards, and left the Hunt property badly damaged. No other injuries reported.
