Hamilton seeks the Frye papers and questions sailors about the January 27 sinking of the American bark William P Frye. Captain Thierichens withholds the original Frye papers while offering copies as the Navy weighs how long repairs will keep the vessel in port. The German embassy sent Captain Boy Ed to protect German interests as Washington conducts a formal inquiry into the incident.

Waldron Jailed On Charge By His Wife
