The room contains city directories dating to 1889, local family histories, old photos, aerial maps, and a comprehensive obituary file dating back to 1849. The library microfilms census records 1790 to 1920 for most counties, plus historic periodicals and yearbooks, while staff discuss retrieval efforts and global inquiries.
