Kohl selects Cabinet as Soviets react to victory

In Bonn Chancellor Helmut Kohl works with aides to form a new cabinet after winning 55.7 percent of the vote and 278 seats. The Soviet Union warned against deploying U.S. missiles in West Germany, while Kohl pledged to pursue NATO missiles if no Soviet removals occur. Computer awaits call from aliens at Harvard symposium

Pulitzer winner Carl Sagan unveils a long term search for intelligent life using an 85 foot radio dish at Harvard. A computer will pick out signals from galactic noise and store the message for decoding. The project will run round the clock with a receiver designed by Paul Horowitz at the observatory.
