Robert Irwin confessed to the July 1959 killings of Ronnie Gedeon the New York model her mother and a boarder. Mrs Ethel Kudner Ronnie Gedeons sister fears she was the intended victim. Irwin surrendered at the Chicago Herald and Examiner offices in Chicago.

Henry Huber about 60 from Plumer near Oil City was arrested as the man who sold nitro glycerin to CIO strikers held at Warren Ohio. Police say the explosive was stolen from a Petroleum Exlplosive magazine near Oil City. Huber faces breaking and entering larceny unlawful possessions and furnishing explosives charges.
In Wilmington a miniature church filled with white flowers hosts Ethel DuPont and Franklin D. Roosevelt Jr for a dress rehearsal of the year’s wedding. Twenty two bridesmaids stand by as the couple, watched by a sole audience, prepares for the ceremony conducted by Rev. Frederick T. Ashton with social organizer Mrs. Edward J. MacMillan coordinating.
Secretary Frances Perkins announced the failure of the federal steel mediation board to reach an agreement between independent steel companies and SWOC after a briefing with Taft. She added there is nothing more the board can do and she will not name a successor to Mr Taft.
Paris June 29 The French cabinet unanimously approves Finance Minister Georges Bonnet's plan to balance the budget defend the currency curb speculation and reform the treasury as part of a broader program to straighten France's financial crisis. The Elysee Palace meeting followed gold payments suspension and stock exchange closure. Premier Camille Chautemps also backs a general program to be submitted to parliament this afternoon.
George H. Earle names Karl De Schweinitz as secretary of public assistance in the new consolidated relief and public assistance cabinet post. He also serves as deputy secretary of welfare and will earn ten thousand dollars annually under the measures signed last week establishing the new system.
William Serviss, 45, faces first degree murder charges in the hatchet killings of his aunts Miss Mary B. Enders 81 and Miss Jennie V. Enders 83 in Amsterdam New York. The bodies were found by neighbors after he left the home. Police say the slayings occurred about 8 pm. He was arrested early today with blood on his clothes and was said to be intoxicated.
Hotel managers from the Pittsburgh district attend the monthly meeting of the Pittsburgh Hotel Men's Association hosted by Thomas M. Boyle of the Castleton Hotel. New Castle hosts, with an afternoon golf session at the New Castle Field Club followed by a 6 PM picnic dinner in a glen on the course.
Rear Admiral Percy Foote retired US Navy of Drexel Hill will head the Pennsylvania Motor Police as commissioner with an $8,500 salary. Maj. Lynn G. Adams, state police superintendent since 1920, will be deputy commissioner in charge of crime detection with a $7,500 salary. Governor Earle to sign seven consolidation bills today.
Walter Luiska of Bessemer is badly injured after falling from a roof at the Bessemer Limestone company plant Monday afternoon. He arrived at Jameson Memorial hospital at 2 30 with a fractured right wrist and a fractured pelvis.
Troop F of the 103rd Cavalry settles into camp life in Annaville Pennsylvania with clean mess hall, organized gear, and tents pitched. The unit travels by Pennsylvania Railroad without incidents and begins immediate duties under Sgt. W. K. Cochran and Sgt. H. C. Black. Privates Moore and Lakatos enjoy wiring and setting up the troop area as the camp routine starts.
