Leukemia survivors show extended five to seventeen year remission
An ACS article notes 157 long term acute leukemia survivors, 103 alive and disease free five to seventeen years post diagnosis, with 48% having stopped treatment for one to ten years. Since 1947 remission and modern drug therapy reshaped outcomes, guiding a proposed cessation of therapy after at least seven years of treatment and four years disease free.
