Three year old Kelvin Rogers of Melbourne Australia had a wire nail removed from his left lung during a seven minute bronchoscopy at Temple University Hospital. Surgeon Dr Chevalier Jackson oversaw the operation amid a 9000 mile journey for the family. The hospital reported the boy is doing nicely after the procedure.
In Madison Maine a 15 year old boy Charles Jones and his 13 year old sister Shirley lost both parents and three younger brothers in a double tragedy. Their mother Annie Wallace Jones 32 took the babies into a woods for a picnic of death and the bodies of the four youngsters were found in a wooded scene. Their father Erwin Jones auto repair man after attending the funeral killed himself with carbon monoxide fumes in a car.

John Seamans of Edenburg was brought to Jameson Memorial hospital at 7 am with a scalp laceration after a crank on an oil shovel he was working on at the Edenburg viaduct kicked back and struck him. He was treated and discharged.
