Car slams into South Side house in rainy incident
Shannon Obermeier, 28, was in her bedroom at 506 E Long Ave when a silver Toyota Avalon plowed into her home. The car knocked the house off its foundation, cracked walls and ceilings, and toppled a curio cabinet where her 7-year-old son was playing. The driver, 28-year-old Aaron Parchman, stood in the rain and said he did it intentionally before police cuffed him and escorted him away. Obermeier described the room shaking and the earthquake-like impact.
