Youth and girl drown after slipping from rock into creek
Four youths sat on a rock above McConnell's Mills when Eleanor Porter fell in and the Lepsett boy tried to help. Both drowned as rescuers and local crews searched the creek until late at night. The Porter girl body was recovered. the other youths’ remains remained missing into the next day.
