Ambrosini proposed aggressively pursuing charter school students to rejoin the district so graduates receive a New Castle Area School District diploma. Any June 30 budget deficit would be covered by the district’s roughly $7 million fund balance. Pennsylvania Eyes Internet Gambling Legalization Amid Budget Push
Pennsylvania may join Delaware Nevada and New Jersey by legalizing online gambling as lawmakers rush a budget fix seven days from the deadline. A Senate path is uncertain despite Gov Wolf's conditional support tied to broader budget talks. An earlier House vote to permit video gaming terminals in bars and trucks stops failed by 37 votes, shifting focus to potential license fees and taxes totalling up to 270 million dollars. An internet casino license would cost eight million.
