In Youngstown Ohio on June 23 Mrs Decong a Jefferson Street resident was blown through her kitchen door while attempting to bury a fire with gasoline and a match. She died soon after at City Hospital as neighbors quenched flames with water. She was 37, mother of one, and ran a small East Youngstown store.
C Warren, secretary of the Franklin township school board, is charged with embezzlement and fraudulent orders. An information filed by John Pflugh says the amount involved is about 504. Warren allegedly issued orders for bills to book and school supply houses and had them cashed. Auditors demand receipted bills, and Warren disappeared.
Cotulla Texas June 2 The Bermuda onion crop in this section has been harvested growers received unusually high prices and yields were strong profits per acre. Farmers realized gross incomes of 450 to 780 dollars per acre with expenses averaging about 125 dollars per acre. A large increase in onion acreage is expected this season.
Mrs H Henry Harter was struck by an auto near Townville while visiting friends. The vehicle was driven by 4. W. Benson, once of Titnavilla and now residing in Passaic New Jersey. Harter's home is listed as Michigan.

June 23. The Colwyn borough police force, a single officer, is under investigation amid a dispute with council members who say they could not locate the policeman at times. Lutton explained his absences by hourly pay limits and being told not to bill beyond monthly limits. He was called for extra duty, then stopped work until the next month, while council members failed to locate him on several occasions.
About 300 railroad shopmen at Conway yards who had been on strike since early May withdrew from the Federation of Labor at a last night meeting. They will seek individual employment and keep an organization without national affiliation, condemning the federation for indifference. The company has posted notices offering permanent work to qualified strikers and some men have already taken other jobs.
Tino Whiteside of Duluth owner of the Culaveras grove in California says he won’t trade his timber to the government for national forest reserves. He controls 12 500 acres with an estimated 600 million board feet of lumber including the slant trees. The government proposed a trade for wind assets. Whiteside will consider a reasonable offer to sell the entire tract valued around two million dollars.
Authorities fear extensive forest fires in Warren Yonango and Vorent counties have devastated local wildlife, potentially wiping out large numbers of primates and other species. Officials urge caution and monitor spreading blazes for containment and wildlife safety.
Nicholson aged 48 a wealthy farmer near Worthington East Franklin township was killed yesterday by a bull on his farm. He was preparing to corral the animal when it attacked him. Mrs Nicholson searched for her husband and found his mutilated body. He is survived by his wife and a brother William Nicholson of Kittanning head of the Kittanning Sheeting company.
At a special meeting the schol board transferred Miss Anna Alisen to grade eight and elected Miss Mabel Taylor at Central and Miss Helen Hinkson at grade 2 1 2 Oakstreet. Only eighth grade pupils may receive manual training and domestic science. Contracts were let for painting forty-six rooms, slate, hardware, lockers, and miscellaneous school work. The high school grounds will be graded and the basement of Thadiuus Stevens school considered. Miss Helen Moselay is ill with diphtheria. Prof. T. A. Kimes acted as clerk. A separate note reports Mrs Bellua Jones of Wilkes-Barre obtaining a divorce after five years.

SHARON PA June 23 A despondent 18 year old George Gump shot his 16 year old wife Marcelle a bride of a few months then killed himself. The shooting happened at the home of Frank Clue three miles southwest of Sharon. Both wounded were taken to Dunl hospital not expected to live. The quarrel followed a work absence and poor health. Gump then fired two shots into his head after returning to his room. Marcelle’s sister Mia Blue remains critically ill and unaware of the tragedy. The couple had eloped from Washington Pa about a month earlier.
Harry Albert Claybaugh confessed to killing Mrs. Mary Gallagher Goudy on a street near her home in Harrisburg. The victim suffered extensive throat wounds, a razor found at the scene was identified as Claybaughs, and the crime followed a quarrel after months of companionship. He was arrested at Juniata Bridge, 17 miles from Harrisburg, late last night.
