Teens tour Lawrence County jail to see real prison life
Three Forest County youths including a 13 year old girl visited the Lawrence County jail as a prevention intervention. The girl wore a Winnie the Pooh shirt while two 16 year old boys accompanied her. Officials described the visit as a reality behind bars to influence their outlook on life and parents. One boy had prior juvenile petitions for crimes, and the other had completed a rehabilitation program. Their offenses include drug and alcohol abuse and unauthorized use of a parent's vehicle.
