Ohio Wildlife Council to rule on white bass ban
In Columbus Ohio the Ohio Wildlife Council weighed extending the current ban on commercial catching of white bass from Lake Erie after mercury was found in stock. Larry Davis urged against extension, citing potential for reopening trade while the FDA left national acceptance possible if mercury stayed within limits. Of 113000 pounds tested between March 22 and May 7, 74000 pounds were rejected as unfit for consumption.
