Silver Jubilee To Be Observed In Mahoningtown
Plans for a silver jubilee celebration honoring Father C. J McKenna include a high mass at St Margarets, a dinner with visiting priests, and an allegorical play at the Liberty Theatre. The observance marks twenty five years in the priesthood with Mahoningtown’s St Margaret's parish noted for its growth from a small church to a thriving congregation. Father McKenna, a native of Lanarkshire Scotland, began his priestly work in the Pittsburgh diocese after studies at St Francis College Loretta and St Vincent's College Beatty.
