Betty Grable Quiet Star of War Era Remains Reticent
In a Las Vegas home interview Betty Grable recalls her wartime morale boosting role and quiet life. She credits her career shift after 1943 to Buddy De Sylva and Jack Haley's San Francisco revue, then marrying Harry James and choosing a relaxed Las Vegas life. She values close friends over LA fame and still receives letters from veterans who remember her birthdays.
