Construction in metropolitan Toronto rose sharply, leading North American cities. The Canada Builder reports a 143 percent jump in all housing starts for the first two months of 1968 versus 1967, with nearly threefold more apartment building permits issued.

The Army Corps of Engineers has built nine eastern Oklahoma reservoirs with 2,157 miles of shoreline and 85 billion gallons of water in the top foot. Projects include Oologah Fort Gibson Tenkiller Hulah Keystone Wister Heyburn Texhoma and Eufaula. Plans call for a barge channel from Catoosa to the Mississippi River and a Tulsa river port. Western Oklahoma hosts Fort Supply and Great Salt Plains reservoirs.
