Army rookies learn with TV at Fort Ord and across centers
At Fort Ord and 10 other basic training sites 16 000 recruits daily watch CONARC owned TV programs. The closed circuit system trains on salute to axle repair with videotaped films. Since 1953 TV instruction proved cheaper than boots, with Ampex equipment and 11 installations producing the films.
