Court allows man to represent self in appeal
PITTSBURGH AP A man serving a 10 to 20 year sentence for the 1982 kidnapping of a suburban Pittsburgh woman should be allowed to represent himself in the appeal of his 1983 conviction. Chief Justice Flaherty reversed a Superior Court ruling and said Grazier’s petitions to dismiss counsel were filed before any appeal. The case involves Teresa Forrastro, 20, of Wilkinsburg, found dead after an abduction near Cheat Lake. Grazier and Bruce Thomas were convicted in 1983 of her murder, and Grazier was later convicted in 1988 of his uncle Clyde Grazier’s death.
