Man linked to police shooting had history of violence
Dallas police linked gunman James Boulware to a past family violence case in Dallas two years earlier in which he choked his mother before fleeing to Paris Texas. He then traveled to Hutchins after opening fire on Dallas police headquarters with an armored van. Authorities say he fired on officers, led them on a chase, and was killed by a police sniper after hours at a restaurant lot. Family members describe long-term concerns about his mental state and threats to shoot schools and churches.
