Hope Road to close after mine subsidence in 2015
North Beaver Township Supervisors voted unanimously to vacate a 1782 foot portion of Hope Road from the East Fairfield Coal underground mine to Route 108. It will become private property owned by the Musser family and an alternate access may be created via Musser Road. Engineers said the road cannot be feasibly fixed due to underground damage and slurry fills.
