Prescription dogs offer tailored benefits for mood and health
May Men's Health cites Dr. Stanley Coren listing dog breeds by health needs. For low mood and loneliness, Papillon Pekinese and cocker spaniel top the best lists, while Greyhound and Afghan hound rate poorly. other health angles applaud breeds like French bulldog and King Charles spaniel for high stress, golden and Labrador retrievers for insomnia, English springer spaniel and retriever for overweight, and large, smart breeds like Doberman and retrievers for backache with cautions on overly energetic or very small dogs.
