Great Race arrives in New Castle amid patriotic, crowding display
The History Channel Great Race entered its 12th day of a 14 day coast to coast run in New Castle. About 15,000 people attended with red white and blue attire while a lone blue heron watched from Neshannock Creek. Fatigue touched drivers and crews as 80 vehicles began in Tacoma and 49 pulled out of Canton. Local scenes included pierogi sold by Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church and a gold painted eagle on the Lawrence County government center.
